That unusual situation of trying to draw inspiration from an archrival didn’t work (the Yankees got swept anyway). So we don’t expect the 2024 Yankees to cue up “The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox” on Netflix now that they trail the Dodgers 3-0 in this World Series that resumes Tuesday night with Game 4 at Yankee Stadium.< https://pdxneurosemantics.com/ /p>

Fox announced that the World Series delivered a combined average domestic viewership (on Fox, Fox Deportes, and streaming) of 15.8 million, a 67% increase from the previous year. The figures included a 53 share in Los Angeles, a 41 share in New York, and a 41 share in San Diego.

With the Yankees leading by a run, reliever Jake Cousins was sent in to pitch the last three outs. He got Smith to fly out, then walked Gavin Lux. Edman followed with an infield single to put runners on first and second with one out. Cousins was then removed from the game and replaced with Nestor Cortés Jr., who hadn’t pitched since September 18. Cortés Jr. first faced Ohtani, who hit a ball into foul territory that was caught by a leaping Alex Verdugo, who toppled into the front row of the stands. Because Verdugo went out of play with the ball, the runners were awarded one base, advancing them to second and third. With the Dodgers down to their final out, the Yankees intentionally walked Betts, thus loading the bases and bringing Freddie Freeman to the plate. On the first pitch, Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam over the right field wall, winning Game 1 for Los Angeles. This is the third consecutive World Series Game 1 to be decided in extra innings, after it previously occurred in 2022 and 2023.

For the third year, the 12-team postseason kicked off with an action-packed wild-card round, featuring eight teams battling for four spots to advance to the eight-team division series. The Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves were all swept by their wild-card opponents, sending the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres on to the division series. In this year’s only Game 3, Pete Alonso and the New York Mets stunned the Milwaukee Brewers with a ninth-inning go-ahead homer to move on.

The flag of Bhutan features a bi-colour background, halved diagonally from top-right to bottom-left. The upper half is yellow and the lower is orange. A white dragon outlined in black is centred on the flag. A norbu, or jewel, is clasped in each of the dragon’s claws.

Flag Day is not an official national holiday, but it’s still celebrated. Many places around the country have parades. Homes and businesses are decorated with red, white, and blue to display the nation’s colors, and flags are proudly hung in honor of Old Glory.

Think of an iconic flag. You’re probably thinking of the stars and stripes of the USA or the Union flag. You probably don’t realise it, but the world is a treasure trove of flags representing diverse cultures and identities. In this blog post we’ll look at some of the lesser-known flags of the world.

The flag of Mozambique consists of three horizontal stripes of teal-green, black and yellow. The black stripe is outlined top and bottom in white. On the left there is a red triangle with a yellow five-pointed star. Layered atop the yellow star is a white book, with a black hoe and Klashnikov rifle with bayonet crossed over it.

The colours of the Greenland flag match those in the Danish flag, reflecting Greenland’s position in the realm of Denmark. The flag captures the essence of its Arctic landscape and indigenous culture. The white stripe in the background symbolises ice and snow. The red stripe signifies the ocean. The red semi-circle symbolises the setting sun with the white semi-circle reflecting the icebergs. The circle is offset towards the left, symbolising the country’s location above the Arctic Circle.

The Yankees are trying to become just the second team ever — joining the 2004 Red Sox in the ALCS — to win a postseason series after trailing 3-0. They’ve already become the first World Series team in 10 tries to fall behind 3-0 and force a Game 5 (the most recent had been the 1970 Reds).

“I’ve definitely got to step up, and I’ve got to do my job,” Judge said. “Guys around me are doing their jobs, getting on base, and I’m failing at backing them up. We’ve got to turn it around in Game 3.”

The Philadelphia Phillies became the first team knocked out of the divisional round when the Mets closed out Game 4 at Citi Field to upset Philadelphia. Meanwhile, in the American League, the New York Yankees advanced to the ALCS, where they beat a Cleveland Guardians team fresh off an ALDS Game 5 win over the Tigers.

If only the UI did a good job of keeping track of this stuff. It can be jarring to go from the flavourful event text to the abstract, soulless numbers that the UI boils them down to. It’s overwhelming, and it’s just not that informative. Every interaction is made a little worse because it necessitates faffing around in discrete, counterintuitive menus that drag you all over the screen. Even after winning my first campaign, I still found myself getting occasionally lost, and I still don’t know how to find crucial information on things like the spread of religion. The tutorial and encyclopaedia are also little help, choosing brevity and vagueness over clear instructions. There’s so much more context and clarity in the event text, so I wish Old World’s writers were a bit more involved in designing the interface, which could definitely benefit from their skills.

The most notable advancement is undoubtedly the importance placed on people. Like Crusader Kings, you are not an immortal ruler leading your people from the birth of civilisation all the way to the space race and beyond. Instead, your famous starting ruler will eventually die. When Philip II left this mortal coil, the empire passed to his son, Alexander, who’d become known as Alexander the Noble—sadly he didn’t do enough to earn the ‘Great’ moniker—who then left it to his daughter, 40 years later. You’ve got heirs and succession laws to worry about, as well as a court full of potential friends and enemies.

The AI is generally pretty good, too. A bit too risk averse on the default difficulty, maybe, but also smarter and more reactive. Enemies will retreat to heal up, take advantage of your weaknesses or injured units, and are less likely to be baited into obvious traps. We’re not talking tactical geniuses here, but logical, rational enemies are still a boon. Unfortunately, it’s still not great at capturing cities. It’s just a bit slow and sometimes underprepared, but it gets there eventually.

The majority of Bretonnia’s knightly class consists of minor nobles belonging to the extended families of barons or dukes. These knights proudly display the colours and motifs of their lord’s heraldry, often embellished with personal devices, identifying them as belonging to a single, extended family whilst declaring their individualism. As a unit, Knights of the Realm are equipped with hand weapons, lances, heavy armour and shields, and aided in battle by the iron-shod hooves of their warhorses.

It’s a challenge to maintain the health of each city while ensuring you’re also producing enough science to unlock new technologies, enough culture to construct high-value tile improvements, and enough military strength to upgrade units. Managing all of this in addition to family relationships, international diplomacy, and Legitimacy requires deep analysis. Because you only get so many Orders each turn, it’s also crucial to properly reassess and prioritise your needs every time.
